Health & Safety Specialist - Italy

Your Role
We are looking for a Health & Safety Specialist who will report to the Country Health & Safety Manager in Italy and will be responsible for supporting the implementation of safe working practices across all business functions, ensuring compliance with the safety and occupational risk prevention system through appropriate actions and processes.

What you will do
- Participate in risk assessment, planning, and monitoring of the execution of corrective and preventive actions
- Coordinate external service providers and prevention services
- Conduct regular visits and inspections
- Monitor and update Health & Safety KPIs for the site
- Support the H&S Manager France in implementing applicable local and global regulations on site
- Establish health and safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements
- Organize and deliver safety training to all staff in partnership with the Human Resources department
- Through internal inspections, monitor, evaluate, and report on safety processes and health & safety performance on site. Collaborate with management to develop and implement improvements
- Foster a safety culture throughout the plant, based on continuous risk reduction and prevention of safety-related incidents
- Support employees in maintaining safe systems by providing expertise, guidance, and hands-on assistance
- Conduct investigations into accidents and incidents to determine root causes, and prepare and share accident flashes, safety alerts, and best practices
- Ensure safety-related documentation and working procedures of subcontractors are followed up
- Actively participate in the implementation of the integrated management system
- Boost health and safety initiatives by increasing awareness and promoting a safety culture (BSO)
- Ensure that all incidents are recorded and appropriately investigated
- Participate in safety committees to track actions as needed
What we are looking for
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (Bachelor’s level) / Solid initial experience in safety-related roles (ideally in the consumer goods, food, and/or pet food industries)
- Strong decision-making skills
- Attention to detail and rigor
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability
- Strong team spirit and recognized leadership
